For the last 2 years I have been teaching private lessons at an elementary school and have been teaching group lessons when asked. During the fall I also have been a low brass technician for a local marching band. Finally I have played in many pit performances for local high schools. These opportunities have taught me a lot about being a teacher and a musician. I feel like it is important that teachers themselves never stop being the student and all these experiences, while humbling, have made me a better teacher. Read More

I love seeing a students eyes light up when they get excited about music or figure our that they can now do something they were not able to do before. Therefore, I am a big proponent of encouraging and not being too critical.
