I always vary my teaching methods to accomodate each of my student's needs.  However, my lesson format stays fundamentally the same.  I always begin with some mouthpiece buzzing, which incorporates ear-training, then move to rhythm exercises, scales and technical studies, method book, and any other music the student is working on at the time. The methods I use vary depending on the students ability and level. Hal Leonard's beginner's method for piano is one that I use for students starting piano at an elemental level. I also use Hal Leonard's essential element's method for beginner trumpet students. These methods work very well for elemental and intermediate levels. They also work for adults starting to learn how to play the instrument. I also use other methods such as the Arban's Trumpet method which covers everything from beginners to advanced levels. I am a very well rounded musician. I have performed in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to an appearance on ABC's All My Children. I have performed on every brass instrument with the exception of French Horn. I have taught as many as 40 Piano Students a week. I am fluent in Jazz Improvisation as well as more traditional Classical music. I am very proficient in Music Theory and believe it can be a huge benefit to all musicians. Read More

I'm a down to Earth, patient teacher willing to help my students pursue their goal anywhere from getting into college, pursuing a career, or even helping someone fulfill their dream they never had time for. I live in South Pasadena, however during the school year I live in Pomona where I attend university at Cal Poly Pomona where I major in Tuba Performance. My teaching style is very simple. Each student moves along at their own pace and learns in their own style. I will try to mold my teaching to the learning styles of the student as much as possible. I believe every concept learned in lessons should be manageable and allowing for steady advancement towards attainable, realistic goals incrementally lesson to lesson.
