It all starts from fundamentals such as having good posture, listening to correct intonations, and learning bow technique. I believe the more students play scales and etudes such as Kayser, Wolfhart, Kreutzer,and Suzuki, the better they would become as a musicians in the future. As the students master the basics and get to know their violins, we'll move on to more advanced topics such as music theory and music history giving them all the knowledge needed to play complex pieces within just a few years of holding their violins for the first time. I believe in making each lesson personal and fun. I pay close attention to how each student learns best. I start with the basics, building solid technique and gradually introducing more challenging pieces. I love incorporating short theory lessons as my students advance, and with my younger students, I play theory games so they can remember music being made fun! After moving to the United States, my part-time orchestra jobs have included principal student violist of Conway Symphony Orchestra, associate principal violist of Pine Bluff Symphony Orchestra, and sectional violist of Texarkana Symphony Orchestra. I have gradually understood the importance of the viola section, and how to contribute to an orchestra as a single violist.
