My method/my style is as mentioned above: My focus is always on the individual student, their music interests and goals AND having a BLAST! My "style" is centered around enjoyment and realistic accomplishments, so the atmosphere is REWARDING! I do begin with foundational skills, music theory that is applicable to the knowledge level of my students, and technique building. However, I want my students to start to play songs as soon as possible and we only work on songs that THEY choose - I do not force students to learn songs that I select or songs that a book tells them to. I've been lucky enough to perform all over the U.S. and a lot of Europe by touring with different bands in high school, college, and independent touring groups. I've been teaching private lessons off and on for about 5 years now. It's been a goal of mine to learn as many instruments as possible throughout my life and focus on the instruments I love. I play 3 different instruments. I originally started out on the flute. I played the flute during high shool and college. I studied under Karen , and Leslie Timmons. While I was at college, I became interested in Music Therapy. As part of the curriculum for Music Therapy, I also studied guitar and piano.
