I believe that the best way to learn how to play is to play what you like to listen to. Practicing the repertoire is as important as the mechanical and technical practices of the instrument. Based on this, I often try to identify the techniques used in the songs that the student likes and whenever possible, we work on the technical part applied to a given song. I also believe firmly in many of the tried and true methods of musical instruction. I love teaching and finding ways to motivate and get my students excited about learning and progressing on their instrument.
