I love helping people learn music. I honestly believe that anyone can play an instrument with some work and everyone has a song to share. In 2012, I graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelors Degree in Music Business. I started a band my junior year of high school called Local Uprising and we have traveled the states, opened up for some of the biggest reggae acts like Steel Pulse, Alpha Blondy, JBoog and Stephen Marley, we had #1 songs on radio and got nominated last year for Reggae Breakout Artist of the Year. I believe that a strong foundation is essential for steady progress and confident performance. A comprehensive approach is my preference. Therefore, when I teach piano, I prefer Faber and Faber Piano Adventures paired with A Dozen a Day for added technique. Since many students in this school district are in band or orchestra, I usually use Essential Elements for Strings, Brass, and Woodwinds.
