I have been teaching privately since 2007. I am a passionate instructor who loves working and playing with students. In 2016, I graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Master of Music degree in Flute and Piano performance. I also earned a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education with a flute emphasis from the University of Arizona under the tutelage of Brian Luce in 2009. My methods are widespread from conventional and modern methods using a combination of note reading, Improvisation using the Larry Carlton method and the Oscar Peterson Piano methodology. I wrote my own guitar book and have many styles of music that I teach. Very important that the student understands what they have to practice and I make sure they understand what is to be done. I have studied music since childhood and continued with two professional degrees in music. My first degree is in Vocal Performance my second is in Music Education. I have been a part of a collegiate piano studio throughout my undergraduate degree. I have been playing classical guitar since childhood, but didn't study it in a collegiate setting. A big part of their progress was the scale routine that I told them to practice daily, as well as various other Etudes like the Burgmuller piano etudes and Kreutzer violin etudes. I tell them what they should work on in a straightforward manner and I keep every lesson positive. I try and make jokes to lighten the mood because I have had several very critical professors and I don't think that's what every student needs the majority of the time. Read More
