I will ask the student for their goals and what they wish to accomplish by taking lessons. Once we establish a goal we can work on attaining that goal. During lessons I find it useful for students to learn some basic music theory as it helps understanding patterns that can be applied to the clarinet. I began my teaching experience in 2016, when I began work as a band camp instructor during my student teaching semester in college. Since then, I have served as a high school band director for three years before stepping away to pursue other musical opportunities. Despite leaving my position as a band director, I still remain active as an educator.
