I feel that creating a freestyle/open studio environment with the ability to diversify their talents into different areas is true to what makes music what it is. In other terms, I will teach multiple instruments to a student within a lesson if they so choose to(with keeping progress in mind). I worked as a youth development coordinator for the Boys and Girls Club of America as well as a youth soccer coach and referee. For every student, no matter the age, I first ask what they want to gain from this class/lesson. Once that has been determined, I make sure the student understands basic fundamentals of music using the Suzuki method, or the Feierabend method, depending on how old the student is. I am extremely passionate about music and have been driven my whole life, so I show my passion in my teaching by my exuberant and fun teaching style. I like to focus on long term and short term projects to build confidence in a variety of ways. I expect regular practice if not daily, and I ask questions during lessons to stimulate critical thinking.
