I am extremely passionate about music and have been driven my whole life, so I show my passion in my teaching by my exuberant and fun teaching style. I like to focus on long term and short term projects to build confidence in a variety of ways. I expect regular practice if not daily, and I ask questions during lessons to stimulate critical thinking. In 1993 I graduated from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma with a Bachelor's in Music Education with emphasis in music therapy. After nearly a decade of practicing as a music therapist, which gave me valuable insight into developing a personalized style of teaching taylored to the student's learning style, I realized that Suzuki Violin Instruction was my true calling. However, I don't think of my students as subjects to this knowledge, but as shapers and creators of unspoken literature, one that speaks and connects with them.
