I am extremely passionate about music and have been driven my whole life, so I show my passion in my teaching by my exuberant and fun teaching style. I like to focus on long term and short term projects to build confidence in a variety of ways. I expect regular practice if not daily, and I ask questions during lessons to stimulate critical thinking. I am very encouraging, but critique when necessary and isolate a problem to address it quickly to build confidence in the student. Read More

I like to focus a lot on the basics, on mastering a connection with the mechanics of the bow and left hand. I don't focus too much on songs unless the student is ready or would take the implications of the challenge seriously. I am a composer and current Logic Pro X learner, so I like to share and talk about sound in many contexts. I was invited to be an instructor in 2008 and started after I completed my first pedagogy class in Suzuki Violin with the Jonesboro Suzuki Institute in Arkansas in August of 2010. I am currently teaching both children and adults virtually as they all live more than 100 miles away. These three students have been with me for more than 5 years, including 1 adult.
