In 1993 I graduated from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma with a Bachelor's in Music Education with emphasis in music therapy. I like to focus a lot on the basics, on mastering a connection with the mechanics of the bow and left hand. I don't focus too much on songs unless the student is ready or would take the implications of the challenge seriously. I am a composer and current Logic Pro X learner, so I like to share and talk about sound in many contexts. I have been labeled a passionate, patient, and fun instructor. I focus on goal driven lessons entailing theory, ear training, repertoire, technique, and history. I studied ethnomusicology and Japanese music in graduate school, so my teaching style is inclusive and diverse. I have been performing in orchestra since the age of 15 and have performed in ensembles such as band, world music, Latin music, jazz, electronic music, and more.
