My methods of teaching change with each student. All individuals learn differently. I start by seeing where each individual is and how they react to the material. We first learn basics and move as fast as the individual can or wants to. I want all my students to play pieces by themselves and with others (not just the same instruments). For piano students I usually use Piano Adventures method books while supplementing with scales, pop and classical repertoire, theory, ear training, history and more. For ukulele and guitar we focus on strumming patterns, rhythm, chords, and repertoire anywhere from rock or pop to classical.
