I have been teaching since I was 18. I strongly encourage at least 10-30 minutes a day of practice. I believe in experiencing the JOY in music, but it does require discipline and work. I can also help with compositional ideas, as I took 2 years of composition as my secondary applied area of study for my bachelor's degree. I believe that one of the most important things a musician can do is to find and develop their own voice on their instrument. Listening to the greats like Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius, Jimi Hendrix, and Chick Corea illustrate how a unique voice can manifest itself and make the music so much more powerful.
