Music is my life. I have been playing piano since I was 6 (18 years) and guitar, bass guitar, drums for 10 years. I graduated last fall with a bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from ASU Jonesboro AR. I have learned a variety of expansive repertoire ranging from Renaissance through Contmemporary. My teaching experience starts when I was in high school. I taught private lessons as well as the lead instructor in our percussion class granted by the director. When I was in high school, I wrote to percussion scores for our marching shows. In my senior year, I was picked up by a musical touring group, and I was able to play drum set with professionals. As a performer, I always encourage students to write their own music and enter competitions and or open mics as I've had a lot of experience in participating in them and can offer a great deal of advance as I continue to look for those opportunities. I believe that one of the most important things a musician can do is to find and develop their own voice on their instrument. Listening to the greats like Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius, Jimi Hendrix, and Chick Corea illustrate how a unique voice can manifest itself and make the music so much more powerful.
