Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. When I teach I tend to lean towards internalizing and interpreting a piece for what it means to you. This involves asking yourself questions that transcend what is on the page, and helping you think about the music in a new way. To keep the student engaged in a lesson I always start with what the student wants to do first for about half of the lesson then stitch half way through to a professional lesson format to ensure progress is retained and homework is given at the end. The second half of the lesson would also be a performing part of the lesson(solo repertoire or improv) and the prior part would be warm-up time. Read More

I believe that one of the most important things a musician can do is to find and develop their own voice on their instrument. Listening to the greats like Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius, Jimi Hendrix, and Chick Corea illustrate how a unique voice can manifest itself and make the music so much more powerful.
