Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. In 2000, I left medical school to pursue music and have never regretted the decision! I went on to receive my bachelor's in 2004 and master's in 2012, both in instrumental music education. I recently relocated to South Tampa after being a full time 4th-8th band director for 10 years in Chicago. I also taught kindergarten music and K-3rd group piano. During the initial lesson, I determine what the student is interested in learning the best approach pace to help them achieve their goals. While I have recommend materials to varying levels of students, every lesson approach is different. With all my students, I believe keeping them engaged and excited at what they are doing is most important. I currently lead my own group and recently released my debut CD New York Stories. In March 2011, I was the guest artist at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Spring Jazz Festival in Houston, TX. I have had the opportunity to perform extensively across the United States and Europe and have performed at many of New York's premier live music venues such as The Blue Note, Birdland, and The Knitting Factory. I have my advanced students work on a lot of difficult music that they may not be familiar with to broaden their horizens while showing them difficult patterns and exercises to strengthen the mastery of their instrument.
