Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For my beginning students who are children on piano, I typically start with Alfred's Basic piano books. There are so many levels and it helps them understand the basics. With the piano books there are also theory workbooks that give them a chance to think about what they are actually doing when it comes to making music. Above all else, music is supposed to be fun. I want my students to be excited about learning new things each week. Music is also a collaborative practice, so I think it is important for the student and the teacher to play together in a supportive environment to help reaffirm the week's lesson. I understand that each student is different, and weekly assignments will be given accordingly.This will require a reasonable weekly goal so that students can see their progress and feel good about their accomplishments, inspiring them to continue playing and learning. I have been involved with music for over ten years, playing the alto saxophone in jazz and classical band ensembles. I am also studying music theory and performance at Pellissippi Community College. I am currently working on my associates in music, and l plan on working on to receive my bachelor's in music theory and composition. I'm of the opinion that students desire instant feedback but also need to be frequently reminded that learning an instrument is a journey which can take a lifetime if one desires to do so. I ask a lot of leading questions so the student might be able to work out the 'whys' to go along with the 'hows'. I expect my students to work hard as they are paying to improve on their instrument.
