Generally speaking I also like to teach music theory and ear training during my lessons so that the students can improve all of their musical skills. This has showed to be crucial especially if they are interested in improvisation and playing contemporary music genres such as jazz / funk / rock / blues. For more advanced players and adults I start by getting an understanding of what they like to play and what are their goals and adjusting my methods according to them. Read More

I am a performer, composer, and educator who loves inspiring and cultivating a passion for music in my students. I received my Bachelor of Music degree in Saxophone Performance from Cal State Fullerton in 2017, and moved out to CT to pursue my Master's degree at the Hartt School and study with Carrie Koffman. I love performing in competitions, as a solo performer, and in chamber ensembles. I've also had opportunities to perform around the country and the world including California, China, and New York. I believe that students need to own their music education, so over time, I gradually start to incorporate their interests into weekly assignments. Read More

My teaching experience extends back to my high school days when I would teach students enrolled in our band new instruments. I also taught for three years from 2009 to 2012 in private studio. I encourage students to practice the suggested amount of time that I give to them each day. I also wish for students to listen to performances of their instruments to learn the capabilities of their instrument as well as the sound of refined playing. Read More
