I've been teaching from as early as middle school. I had my first two bassoon students in middle school. Throughout high school I was a teachers assistant to my band and choir directors and frequently led sectionals, class activities or solo lessons. I have found that most students in my original area who learned saxophone were taught in various ways that brought up issues later on in their musical career. I focus on fingering exercises and scales for beginners to ease the hardships brought up later and introduce options. Then, we begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their level. For more advanced students, we can work on musicality and discuss goals, such as solo and ensemble, the all-state music festival, and other performances or competitions. Read More

I love to see others excel in their unique gifts! I began piano as a little boy, but was discouraged from music lessons due to the teaching program. As I became older, I went from recorder, to saxophones, to improvisation, to piano, to singing, to flute, to basic wind instruments, eventually playing/composing/recording/touring with several of the most well-known of bands in the Southeastern Wisconsin area on vocals, saxophones, flute, and piano, as well as studying music at Carroll College.
