Once again, my overall goal is to develop a personal artistic voice for each student. My teaching style is flexible to style and type of music that the student wants to play, and I facilitate their growth in that specific genre of music. I also like to expose my students to types of music they would have never thought possible to play on their instruments. For students of all ages, I like to lead with the quote from Marcel Moyse; "Practicing is a matter a time, patience and intelligent work", for I believe that once this is applied to the idea of practicing and general encounters with ones instrument, then success and progress is guaranteed. Aside from that principle, I like the idea of independent work from students to keep them accountable on the journey to becoming a musician but a more interactive and demonstrative approach during the lesson to give students an idea of what needs to be done while being that good role model so that they may keep motivated work hard at becoming the best possible musicians. I started teaching Privately in 2007 and have continued off and on since. I have worked with students in Woodwind and Brass either privately or in a school setting. Also, I had the opportunity to work with multiple schools ensembles and marching bands. I encourage all of my students to maintain a constant practice schedule in order to work toward our goals. Music is meant to be enjoyed, so I like to find what it is my student enjoys and improve on those aspects. Read More
