Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I work individually with students of all playing abilities. I instruct kids with special needs, as well as mainstream students and adults. My lessons include learning to read music, along with understanding proper tone and pitch. I have been a music teacher for over 25 years and have taught music at all levels from kindergarten through college both in the United States and abroad in the Caribbean, Japan, and Africa.. I have experience teaching many different kinds of music including general music, elementary/junior high/high school band, junior high and high school choir, jazz band, orchestra, and hand bells.While I can teach beginner level students on all band instruments, my specialties are the brass instruments with a special emphasis on trumpet and French horn. My teaching experience started 5 years ago. I was a senior in high school and was teaching a beginning student the trombone. Throughout the past 5 years I have continued to teach students when I was able to. I encourage regular practice and maintaining a consistent schedule. I always say 10 minutes a day is better then 30 minutes every 3 days. For younger students a combination or aural learning and written learning are great ways to help them engage and keep an interest. Read More

Yet I am still a professional musician. What I am saying is that you can be successful in learning to be a musician if you have attention issues. As a middle-aged adult I have (just a few years ago) been diagnosed with ADHD, which explains my entire life of practicing music! I am not a psychologist, but I know how it feels and I have studied enough teaching and psychology to understand that things like this are not a permanent barrier to being a musician, even a great musician.
