I have had many students continue to play when they entered college just for fun and a way of meeting people with similar interests. I am an experienced and passionate teacher and performer. I hold my K-12 Music Teaching Certification in Ohio and New Jersey. As a professional vocalist, I have appeared with various orchestras and small opera companies in Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia, and beyond. I have performed at Severance Hall, Playhouse Square, Philadelphia's Kimmel Center, and Chicago's Harris Theater, but as a student, I never thought that would be the case. I began teaching privately in my sophomore year of high school. I had always known that I wanted to become a music teacher, but this is the time of my life when I really started discovering my potential in the education community. Students that I have worked with have achieved Superior Ratings in OMEA Solo and Ensemble events, have been part of various honor bands and extra-curricular groups. From there, I get them playing songs that they recognize, teaching both by ear and with a method book. William joined Musika in 2009. William is a retired college professor who taught woodwinds at the college level for over 25 years. He is an accomplished recitalist on both clarinet and saxophone. He earned the Master of Music degree in clarinet performance from the University of Akron and the Ph.D. in musicology from Kent State University.
