I began teaching in 2010 as a private lesson instructor. In 2016, I began working for a teaching school in New York City. I'm now based in Northeastern Pennsylvania and looking to cultivate a community of musicians through a shared love of the craft. I have taught all ages of students, but find that I connect more thoroughly with students age 10 and up. I am a devoted music teacher and passionate performer, who likes to inspire my students to love making music. I perform with orchestras and chamber groups all over the Pennsylvania/Ohio area including the West Virginia Symphony orchestra. Additionally, I have an active chamber group, Kassia Ensemble, a mixed instrumentation group dedicated to furthering women's leadership in the arts. For young children, I usually choose teaching books that are more fun and give them a basic start with understanding musical symbols by performing tasks in their books. Once students begin to understand how to read and play, I start to introduce the next level of material for them. For adults, I focus on what they are interested in and give more in-depth theory or compositional discussions if they wish or guide them towards playing pieces they always wanted to learn. Read More

In 2007, I graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. I was a member of the Penn State Marching Blue Band and have participated in several Alumni Blue Band performances since graduating. I went on to earn my Masters of Music in Music Education from Northwestern University in 2012. I enjoyed teaching music in the public school for ten years.
