Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I have been a chorister and soloist in the Highland Music Festival, in Edinburgh, Scotland, and have participated in concerts in Carnegie Hall, The National Cathedral, Christ-Church Abbey, and London's famed Southwark Cathedral. This year, I was selected to participate in the Tallis Scholar Summer Camp program, under directors Rebekah Gilmore and Peter Phillips. I strongly encourage my students to work at their own pace! If they are driven, I love setting goals and progressing fast! If students want to play simply for fun or leisure, I allow them to take the process at their own pace and simply enjoy learning music! I also love to acknowledge progress and accomplishments, while constantly working to be better and craft one's skill. I use both classics and popular songs to teach reading, theory, ear-training, and improvisation. I teach all of my lessons differently- custom tailoring each one to the students (and parent's) wants, needs, and personal learning style. My success in teaching has come from helping the student to see the joy and pride that comes from attaining goals they might not have believed possible. Playing music should also be fun- the more a student enjoys what they are doing the more they will play- resulting in a higher level of achievement. Read More

In my studio, the most important thing when structuring lessons is to make them individualized. No two lessons look the same in my studio. If a student wants to work on composing, that will be the focus. If the student wants to work on sight-reading, we'll focus on that. Of course, it's important to be a well-rounded musician, but these lessons are for the students' benefit, not mine, so I'll make sure they leave their lessons with what they want to gain. Read More
