I was brought up learning the Suzuki Method of Piano. This method has its benefits, but I also utilize other methods such as Faber's Piano Adventures or Clark's The Music Tree. Developing a good ear is essential when trying to express yourself musically. Piano technique is also essential when trying to execute what you want at the right moment. For beginning students on guitar i typically start wih Hal Leonards book 1. With about 50 pages in this book, we can go thru at a steady pace and be playing songs from the beginning. Makeing music from the very beginning is the key ! Even the simple one line practice exercizes i back up with a harmonic chordal accompaniment for a satisfying duet. I am a motivated, hard-working performer and teacher. I am a very versatile musician who has studied classical, jazz, blues, rock, and many other genres. I play regularly all over North Carolina and South Carolina with a rock band and a jazz trio. I also work with musical theater groups playing in the pit orchestras.
