I begain teaching as a band assistant in college. I would lead sectionals and work with students who where struggiling one on one. As I gained experiance my role and responsibly grew and I began to run rehearsals and plan for concerts. One aspect of lessons that I emphasise is musicality. I have been pursuing a strong passion for music since I was 10 years old. Five decades later that passion is stronger than ever, and now includes a strong commitment to music education. I have been very fortunate in my musical career to have the opportunity to study and work with hundreds of brilliant musicians and play multiple genres in multiple settings across the Midwest and the West Coast. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more.
