As Instructor of Trumpet at the University of Michigan I worked with undergraduate and graduate trumpet majors in the classical performance program. As Graduate Student Instructor I worked with secondary and non-major undergraduate and graduate students, along with working with high school students in college preparatory courses such as the Michigan Youth Ensembles and MPulse Trumpet Institute. Beginning students will start with tone and basic theory studies from the Trevor Wye Series. We then go on to learning some easy standards. For more experienced students, you'll choose an etude book, study tone from Moyse's "De La Sonorite", and really hone your scales and arpeggios from Taffanel and Gaubert's 24 Daily Studies.
