I teach Classically trained Violin, viola, and piano. I am equally comfortable teaching very beginners as well as high school and adult students. I am very honest in my feedback. I like to stick to the former. I strongly believe that a good, strong foundation leads to fewer problems in the future and makes the process of music-making much more enjoyable. My methods not only consist of studying technique but also the groundwork of rhythm and a variety of styles for a more personalized study path for each and every student. This may consist of jazz play for rhythm and improvisation, but there is also a place for technique practice and musicianship in classical art pieces. I have always loved to teach. I began teaching in elementary school in 6th grade, where I would help in kindergarten classroom as a mentor program. In the 10th grade I would often visit my 9th grade science teacher and help her with her class. At 17 I taught a couple adults to read. The young student may prefer the use of technology such as Ipads and laptops. Some others may prefer to learn through paper books and methods.
