I tend to be very patient with students and understand that if they are not enjoying the lesson they will not learn or practice as much as they should. I try to get my students playing music quickly, once they are playing and not just practicing it becomes fun. I always supplemented my income with teaching. When I got to Florida I started teaching in people's homes and built up 67 students. I played six nights a week and played in church's three days a week. I needed a vacation.
