Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Formal lessons are a new thing to me, but as far as teaching goes I’ve taught friends and colleagues along my music school career a thing or two about music production, theory, as well as guitar and piano techniques here and there. For beginning students whose primary goal is membership in a school performance ensemble, I will usually choose a beginning band method that give them a good foundation in fundamental playing techniques. As they gain basic skills at this level, I expand the content of lessons to include easy solo repertoire. For older and adult beginningstudents, I usually use instrumental methods more suited for older learners. In addition, I incorporate easy solo literature for public performance. Read More

I began teaching myself to play Guitar as a teenager and eventually taught myself to play other instruments as well. During this time I would learn all of my favorite songs by ear or with the help of tabs. Once I had started attending the Academy of Contemporary Music I learned more advanced music theory that relates to general music and Guitar. During this time I met my first guitar teacher who inspired to learn more and more about theory and guitar and even taught me about the production and business side of music. Read More

I started teaching when I was a junior in high school. I was taking college classes, so I had some free time during school hours, and my school's band director would have me assist him in teaching the younger band classes. I emphasize the method of divide and conquer; the idea that if we are confronted with a complex problem, then we isolate each difficulty in that complex into a collection of simple problems. We master simple situations on the guitar individually until we are performing complex tasks that were once physically impossible. Ultimately, I think a blend of competence in technique, tone, and interpretation with a comprehensive outlook over specific works, studies, and the instrument itself will foster rapid development in a beginner, define the path of an intermediate, and supplement the advanced player.
