I'm a passionate and curious musician. I'm self-taught in the styles of classical and jazz from when I picked up the clarinet I found at a Salvation Army at the age of 10. I taught myself until I started college and studied with Kelly Lake, Stephanie Gardner, Jeff Quamo and Cris Inguanti at NAU. While working toward receiving my Masters in Clarinet performance at NAU, I taught music theory and aural perception at the undergraduate level. In addition to teaching I've had two pieces written and recorded for me along with a couple tracks on a comedian's recent albums. I focus on the students musical wants first and then their musical needs. In a curriculum for any student I find certain skills to be necessary. Technique, phrasing, dynamics, and the like. I think these are valuable in any students abilities. Yet students who do not have their musical wants fullfilled feel music to be boring and uneventful. Hello! I am trained in classical music. I started playing music at age of 7: at first: violine, then flute and piano, afterwards; I was trained in opera voice. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music in the U.S.A. I've performed in school, festivals, art walks, solo, duo and trio. I've also performed in a band and orchestra. I had my first teaching experience working with elementary students as a private instructor during my senior year of high school. I continued to work with beginning and intermediate students throughout college teaching everything from beginning instruction to jazz improvisation.
