I started teaching music during college teaching private lessons part time 7 years ago. I focus on each individual according to their experience and push them beyond their initial limitations. I typically begin my young students in the Suzuki Method for Flute, inwhich I have received the training for this method. For older students, I begin them in the Trvor Wye Method for Beginning Flute Students. I supplement both these methods with solos appropriate for their level and goals, such as UIL and other competitions. I am a graduate of Texas Tech University. I began teaching privately in 1985 on the Lubbock ISD Music Tutorial Program. I went into the schools and taught students privately during class hours. I taught Tuba and Baritone Horn. In 1989 I began teaching with Lubbock Parks and Recreation in the community centers. This was more generalized. I taught Band Instruments, Voice, Guitar, Music Theory, Beginner Piano, Beginner Strings. I come up with a customized lesson plan for each of my students that will stay on the best possible path to success. Based on skill level, all lessons are geared toward progressing to a goal that the student sets while setting individual milestones. I choose a method book that is most appropriate for the student.
