Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I first started music at a young age through my local church; my first instrument being flute. I studied flute for many years before taking formal voice lessons. This led me to become a voice performance major at the Manhattan School of Music, where I sang lead roles in and outside of the school. In addition, I continued my flute studies as well as strengthen my piano skills. I first started teaching seven years ago, while in high school. Upon recommendation by my band director, I began teaching summer lessons to elementary school students in my school district, and I’ve been teaching ever since. I individualize my teaching methods for each student based on their ability level. After I assess the ability level, I find level-appropriate method books, scale studies, etudes, tone exercises, sight reading, and solo repertoire. I use method books that I am personally familiar with and like, but am open to looking for new, exciting options. I make sure that the students feels comfortable with materials, but is also challanged so that they may progress in their skills. Read More

When I think of teaching, I think of how rewarding it is to get to know each student and their families. I encourage parents to stay in the lesson (not required). There is so much to learn and see.
