I am a passionate and driven music instructor that loves encouraging and developing students who love the drums and music. I will be graduating in 2023 from Ball State University with a degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Marketing. I have performed in many settings like church worship teams, large orchestra school bands, music camps and large outside concerts. I am an avid music lover, performer, and teacher. I was lucky to study piano from a young age and have the amazing pre-collegiate experiences of appearing on MTV's Made and opening for the likes of McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, and Bela Fleck. I then received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where I studied saxophone performance as well as piano, songwriting, and audio production. My teaching experience dates back to my senior year of high school 10 years ago.  My mother is a teacher, and got me my first job tutoring math for one of her teacher's assistants.  During the first couple of years, I had a number of math and music students and learned the benefit of tailoring my teaching methods to the individual rather than using a one size fits all teaching approach.  I try to listen to the student's interests and skills so that I can develop a practice routine that is both fun and beneficial for them specifically.  I also have found that the best teachers that I have had, exposed me to music that I would have never discovered on my own.  I believe that students should both enjoy their lessons and their practice.  I also firmly encourage them to perform and create their own original projects so that they are really experiencing and benefiting from their newly learned strengths.
