I consider it essential for students to have great control of their hands and sticks before we really get to harder material. All lessons are taught with a metronome, and we up the tempo as we go. I first like to get to know my student's goal whether it's just to learn to play, improve their skills, or become a professional. For a beginner I introduce the instrument, and instruct them in the basic techniques to start playing music the first day! I will then give them the instructional tools so they can feel comfortable putting their ideas into practice. I 1987 I graduated from McLennan Community College with an Associates Degree in Music Performance. In 1994 I graduated from the University Of Texas In Arlington with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education. I also have a Texas Teaching Certificate.
