Carlos studied Percussion at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes of Mexico, Cultural Institute of Panamá, Republic of Panamá. as well with world known percussionist like Alex Acuña, Endel Dueño, Jesús Alfonso Miró (Musical Director of Los Muñequitos de Matanzas), Lamim Thiam, and more.With his explosive soloing and inventive conga patterns, Carlos is widely acclaimed as a grate percussionist. He is committed to the development of the conga drum, breaking down traditional percussion barriers to perform traditional latin rhythms, jazz, jungle, funk and hip-hop whilst retaining his distinctly latin roots.As a live and session performer, he played with various international artists including Willie Colón, Eugenia León, Oswaldo Ayala, Elizabeth Mesa (Judge of Latin American Idol), Paquito D'Rivera (multiple Grammy Award-winner), Enrique Nery, and more.His musical journey is a personal quest to explore and create new sounds and rhythmic fusions. While I try to follow a mostly K12 standard structure to my private lessons at the end of the day I will be tailoring my instruction to my students wants and needs. I like to set attainable weekly goals with my students in regards to technique and style that will be implemented via exercises, scales and into our repertoire.
