Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

My teaching experience started in 1998 while I was the lead keyboardist at my congregation in Los Angeles. At the time I ran a small 6 student studio at home. I also visited students in their home for convenience. I was not before long that I was able to teach a group sessions in my congregation for a few years of which several students were able to achieve their musical goals. I am an educator who is in love with music and my instrument, and I enjoy fostering in my students an excitement about music. I graduated from Oklahoma Christian University in 2011, with a Bachelor of Music Education with a percussion emphasis, and I earned my A.S. in Business from Murray State a few years prior. Music has always been a passion for me. I'm motivated to work with students and show them how music can transform them as a person and musician. In 2016, I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelors in Instrumental Music Education and a Bachelors in Percussion Performance. Performing in different types of ensembles throughout the years has given me versatility as a precussionist in many different styles, such as marching band, classical, musical theatre, latin jazz and hip-hop. For beginning students, I usually start with technique and rudiments with reading. Once the student begins to learn a few rudiments and has correct technique we will start working on solo snare drum reading or playing to a music track if they are a drum set player. I believe reading music is essential to becoming a strong musician so this is something I require all of my students to learn. Read More

For my beginning guitar students, we begin with basic chords and simple melodies to develop motor function, finger strength/dexterity, and calluses on the fingertips. After that I start teaching them how to read music and progress onto harder pieces. During this time, I also incorporate teaching the student a song of their own choosing in order to keep them engaged and excited about learning the play music. For piano students, we begin working out of the Bastien piano series immediately, and my percussion students learn from the Hal Leonard Percussion books. Read More
