As far back as I can remember I've always had a fascination with musical instruments and a deep desire to make music. I have attended a few private music schools in Los Angeles, CA in 1994 and in 1996 which allowed me to hone in my skills. I participate actively in praise and worship teams to the day since 1992. My involvement in the various church communities allowed me to reach out to many who wanted to become part of a music ministry and thus began my journey as a music instructor. I am proud to say that there are many active former students which I was able to take so they can evolve all within their own musical strengths.
My teaching experience started in 1998 while I was the lead keyboardist at my congregation in Los Angeles. At the time I ran a small 6 student studio at home. I also visited students in their home for convenience. I was not before long that I was able to teach a group sessions in my congregation for a few years of which several students were able to achieve their musical goals. Many of my students were children at the time and have grown to be stellar performers. Private lessons have continued sporadically to the day and I do wish to help each student reach their musical potential.
I have various methods of teaching, all tailored to each students' strengths. However, all students will learn to be musicians and by becoming one, students will develop their personal styles and unique musical signature all while being coached in proper musical training. As each student learns to be a musician, they will also learn purpose in music which is the drive that will allow them to be successful. Musicianship and purpose are key elements to open many possibilities in music beyond learning to read sheet music or follow a TAB. My method will allow the student to be free to express and develop their musical abilities.
It is a privilege to be able to be a part of the development of a musical goal no matter the age or skill level. I take it upon myself to make sure that each student achieves his or her musical goals. I start all my beginners with getting to learn their instrument, the fundamentals of music like scales and progressions and some fun simple songs or melodies. Higher skill levels will include developing the ear for pitch and rhythm, performing in real time and improvisation. I will also incorporate a live band rehearsal which will make students think on their feet. Through out the entire learning process I will keep the students' motivation fresh so they may have purpose. Whether a student want to play at home on the holidays, be in a garage band, play at gigs or be part of a music ministry, I will help them achieve their goals
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
