I have most students start with Essential Elements for fundamentals. Then I progress to solo and duet repertoire when the time a student is able to grasp counterpoint and rhythm well. Adult students can often move faster due to being able to understand the math behind music. I also try to incorporate theory and history and culture with my lessons. For piano, I use Bastien for my younger students and Farber and Bastien for my older students. Read More

For students who are already in an instrumental program through school, I will start with whatever method book they are using at school, and branch off from there. Depending on the instrument, I will bring in another method book specific to that instrument book and we will also use some sort of etude book. The etudes may be classical in nature or more modern music. For older students, I will help them prepare Solo and Ensemble pieces as well. Read More

Each lesson plan will be tailored to fit the student’s needs. Personally, I think one of the most important parts of teaching music is to give students a complete grasp of performing music by combining theory into their lesson plan to make a well-rounded musician. Their lesson plan will depend on their playing level: I will make sure they have fundamentals down for beginner students, but also adding solo repertoire and etudes to teach virtuosity and good performance practice for the advanced students. Similar to The Suzuki Method.. I take the concept further enabling the student to conceptualize and visualize music utilizing Einstein's 'The Fabric of Space and Time'.. Materializing music from the invisible to the visible, in ones mind as well as on paper, bringing music full circle, or 360* degrees..Example: a rain bow has a definitive structure of 7 colors, 7 days in a week etc. 12 months in a year 12 weeks in a season..
