I have been playing the Cello for 19 years, and it is my greatest passion in life. I can rarely contain my excitement when it comes to Classical music, and it is my goal as a teacher to encourage this same excitement about music in my students. I have not only studied as a cellist, but as a conductor and musicologist. I have had the opputunity to study with some of the countries greatest pedagogues, including Nancy Hair, Peter Howard, and Raimi Solomonov.I just recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Drake University, and I am currently working on my Masters of Music at the Chicago College of Performing Arts with renowned cellist Richard Hirschl. I truly believe that sheet music, is one of the biggest hurdles of music education, and drives up the cost. Students with my studio, will not be required to buy any music (though they can if they want to!). Based on the fundamental teaching of Suzuki, Paul Roland, and the sensibilities of modern music, my pedagogy features composers from all eras. For the child and adult alike I begin with different types of instuctional material. Since instuctional materials use similar but somewhat different ways of presenting concepts, I use the the series that will allow the student to grasp and master the fundamentals. I am a committed educator, passionate about sharing the cello with anyone and everyone who wants to learn! I received my Bachelors of Music in Cello Performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester New York in 2015. After graduating, I moved to Chicago Illinois, where I have enjoyed an active teaching, performing, recording and touring schedule.
