My methods vary on the student and subject. Beginning students will typically focus more on technical pieces of music to improve on certain aspects of a few pieces to perform. More advanced students will still practice technical parts of their music, but less time will be spent on it during a lesson. Advanced level students will spend more time on repertoire and performance. The more advanced a student gets, the more I expect them to practice outside of lessons and apply their newly learned technical skills into their music on their own. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a student develop a passion for music! Therefore, it is my job to have each student progress at their own pace. I hold recitals twice a year as a checkpoint to see how students have progressed and to have them practice performance. These recitals help motivate the students to practice and give acknowledgement to all their hard work and accomplishments. This acknowledgment is what drives them to work even harder and progress even further therefore leading closer to their dreams as a musician. Read More

Whether they are very young or getting a later start, I love seeing the excitement as they begin to figure things out. A regular practice schedule is extremely important, and I work with the student (and parent, depending on age) on figuring out what works best for them for practicing. Read More

I have received professional education at The Sibelius Academy for teaching private music lessons. I like to teach students as individuals and create a practice program for them according to their personal goals. I think that both the process of learning and the end goal are important. Read More

It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
