During my 4 years at CSU, Sacramento, I had masterclasses with pianist-composer, Eric Zivian, Timothy Eddy, and Steven Doane. In 2015 I performed the Lalo Cello Concerto after being a winner of the CSU Sacramento Concerto Competition. After finishing my masters, I lived in Ann Arbor Michigan and performed with the Jackson Symphony, South West Symphony Orchestra, Adrian Symphony Orchestra, and West Symphony Orchestra in addition to playing in musicals and participating in a number of chamber series. I believe that every student learns differently and at different levels. I also know that you get out of lessons what you put into them so I require that students practice at home in addition to their weekly lessons. I have recitals twice a year and I believe that being able to play in a group setting and having a goal of performing really gives students the motivation to practice. Read More

I like to create goals with the student, not just for them. In other words, I make sure the student's opinion is always taken in consideration to ensure that every goal set is within reason and that the student genuinely thinks it is realistic for them. I encourage students to keep a practice journal where they write down the amount of time they practiced, what scale and technique exercise they practiced, and the pieces they practiced. Read More

I first began teaching during my undergraduate program and have since taught in many different settings and for many different strings instruments. As an orchestra director of a grade and middle school, I was responsible for creating an appropriate string curriculum for my students and I was directly responsible for teaching beginning strings (violin, viola, cello and double bass) through Grade 3 difficulty.
