Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Violin, Cello, Viola, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, Double Bass, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar

I use the Suzuki Beginning books for cello and double bass students. For guitar and bass guitar, I use Hal Leornard's Essential Elements. The easy-to-understand and interactive nature of the Essential Elements books make them a great teaching tool. For piano students, I use the Czerny beginner etudes. My lesson plans usually include a warm-up, a review of last week's assignment to verify that the student has practiced, the main piece the student is playing, and usually something fun to sightread in the last 5 minutes of the lesson.  Read More

I've found that keeping an open mind about methods is really helpful when dealing with beginning students, young and old. I've tought from various method series including Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, Emily Wright's A Modern Cellist's Manual, Muller Rusch, and more. While I'm not a certifited Suzuki instructor, I do teach from the Suzuki method when students or parents request it. What's important is matching the right method to the right student which I tend to determine at our initial lesson. Read More

I want to educate my student and give correct information and teach them in the best way possible. Read More
