I first began teachng bass guitar in my early twenties.  Later in life I worked in both Japan and Thailand, where I studied with master drum teachers and also top piano and violin instructors.  After returning to the United States, I entered a program to become a certified guitar instructor, and am the ONLY instructor in my area which has earned these certifications which are specific to several different points of teaching guitar. I have been teaching cello since high school, when I already had 15 years of experience playing the cello. I have taught consistently since then and along the way completed all of the units of Suzuki teacher training. I have studied how to teach with the renowned trainers David Evenchick, Jean Dexter, Pamela Devenport, Carey Cheney, and Avi Friedlander. I continue to study with other teacher trainers whenever possible to continue learning how to teach. Read More

I generally focus on teaching students how to practice and problem-solve, and set goals for themselves.
