Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

Students will likely begin in a method book of some form, and eventually will use supplementary material as needed. The method books for Younger students typically consists of 3 or more levels depending on their skill, while the method books for older students provide a good outline of the technique for the instrument. The supplements provide materials to develop musicianship and artistry through repertoire. This approach allows the lesson to be tailored to the students' overall purpose for taking the lessons. I've tought consistently sincen then and have found that no matter what their age or music experience is, everyone can learn to play and enjoy an instrument. The fundamentals of playing cello are the same for everyone, no matter when or where or how you start. I began teaching private cello and guitar lessons in 2009. Over time, I have branched out to teach piano and bass guitar. I have experience working with students one-on-one or in groups. I keep the lesson fun and engaging, while still focusing on important concepts. I focus on technique with a light mixture of music theory. I always start a lesson with a new student by assessing their current skill level. If the student already has a certain curriculum they are working on, I usually have them pick up from where they left off so I can see where we're at. Taking things into consideration like intonation, posture, dynamics, form etc., I either assign a new curriculum or continue on. My lessons usually consist of 3 books: a scale book, an etude book, and a leveled song book like the Suzuki method. Read More

I encourage my students to focus on listening to the sounds they produce and if the sound is of the wrong essence, then I will work with them to find a way to correct the sound. As a form of encouragement, I never hesitate to compliment my students whenever they make accomplishments or strides in progress. I prefer using a Suzuki book for beginners and other etudes and solo pieces for more advanced students. Read More
