I started teaching as soon as I was a senior in college. I was employed as a junior coach/cellist at the Yerevan State Conservatory to help freshman piano students learn the art of accompaniment. I started teaching cello at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music's preparatory department and Strarling Programs at 2002. I endeavour to share my love of music and its transformative reach with others. I'm an acoustic and electric cellist multi-instrumentalist who is passionate about creativity and music as a means to joy! In 2019, I graduated from Temple University with a B.M. in Music Therapy/Cello where I studied both classical and jazz music. I've been playing cello for 13 years in orchestras, quartets, jazz combos, and my personal favorite, rock bands. I graduated from Grove City College with a Bahelor of Arts degree in Music Education, which has given me experience in teaching classroom music grades K-12. I have been teaching privately for 11 years, and in public school for the last 7. I have played the violin for 20 years, and viola/cello/bass for the past 10. I have also played piano and sung for the last 12 years, and have performed in both solo and group settings on every instrument mentioned. I have a "less talk, more play" approach to music. People learn instruments because they want to play music, and that is always the focus in my lessons. While some instructors incessantly talk about theory, history, and other music concepts, I prefer to keep the talking to a minimum and have my students play their instrument as much as possible. I also tend to move at a quick pace, but I always adapt my pacing to meet the needs of the student. Read More
