I have discovered all beginning guitar methods are essentially the same, so pretty much any of them will work for a beginner. It is how the individual processes the information! Additionally, I have played bass at a number of churches around the DFW Metroplex some of which include Southlake Baptist, Creekwood United Methodist, Crossroads Bible Church, and First United Methodist McKinney. I will set a goal for each lesson, and provide material to practice in between meetings. It's important to me that I find out what the student's goals are to ensure we are heading in the right direction.
