Playing music is awesome, and I love sharing the experience of performance with students. My greatest former teachers made always two things clear - 1) it is important to strive to be better than than you were yesterday, and 2) playing music should be fun! Whether big or small, it is important to me that each student see measurable progress with every lesson. All lessons are tailored to the specific needs and learning style of each individual student. Generally, we start with a quick assessment of where you are in the instrument, what pieces you can play and want to and/or need to get to play someday, I use a regimen of Cello " workouts" that will focus on improving overall and focus on areas we need to work the most on, each student is different and responds differently to different methods, though there are several etude books I use ( like Feullard's 60 daily exercises or poppers Highschool of cello, as well as some of Dotsauers 113 Studies ) which would also depend on our starting point. I first like to get to know my student's goal whether it's just to learn to play, improve their skills, or become a professional. For a beginner I introduce the instrument, and instruct them in the basic techniques to start playing music the first day! I will then give them the instructional tools so they can feel comfortable putting their ideas into practice. I am very open to the student's musical desires, but I have found that instructional books are a great way to improve one's skills. Read More

Instruments: Guitar, Bass Guitar, Harmonica

I've taught private lessons, group lessons, workshops, and youth music camps since 1998. I tailor my lessons to each student, according to his/her own goals and musical tastes. I like to get to know my students and find out what/who they like musically, then use that knowledge to demonstrate the things we're working on so they can hear it in action. If students want to write their own songs, we apply what we've learned to their songs too. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
