I gave my first lesson when I was a sophomore in College, and during college I gave weekly lessons to about 5 students, each of different skill levels. I am an instructor who is passionate and motivated about both music and teaching. While working on a degree in Psychology at Grand Valley State University in Michigan, I also studied music theory and other musical topics. I began playing bass guitar around 1978 and have played in bands, done session work and given music lessons in Michigan and the midwest ever since. I enrolled in and intensive program for bass guitar at the Players School of music where I studied performance, music theory and received private instruction from Jeff Berlin. Read More

In all these cases, the student has shown their unique approach to music, and I feel it is important to acknowledge these accomplishments before offering suggestions to improve. Read More
