While I aim to help students become their best, I ultimately want them to have fun above all else. I believe progress looks different for everyone, and I am very patient and happy to go over something more than once. Learning an instrument is more of a marathon than a sprint in my eyes, and I hope to guide each student on their own musical path. I have been teaching guitar for more than 25 years. I have taught private lessons as well group lessons. Some of my greatest successes have been with handicapped students. I always encourage patience and having a belief in themselves. Since i teach all styles of music, I try to help the student find the music he or she wants to learn and then we go for it. I began my musical career in high school taking on paid gigs at an early age and after graduation I had the opportunity to begin playing professionally right away. Before moving to Florida my central home for 15 years was in an arts-based community north of San Francisco where I was a member in several groups that gained significant notoriety throughout Northern California and the Greater North West. My first experience teaching someone was when I was younger in my high school days, I was teaching my 7 year old nephew how to play ukulele which was an arduous task indeed. But through said trails and tribulations we managed to accomplish our goals together. Currently Im teaching guitar at the fine arts academy and I am teaching one student consistently while also substituting occasionally.
