I began teaching in 2010 as a private lesson instructor. In 2016, I began working for a teaching school in New York City. I'm now based in Northeastern Pennsylvania and looking to cultivate a community of musicians through a shared love of the craft. I have taught all ages of students, but find that I connect more thoroughly with students age 10 and up. I began teaching piano at World of Music in 1988. I tutored many students on several instruments while a student at D'Angelo School at Mercyhurst University. I champion many different methods of music education both formally and informally. I stress many tried and true fundamentals along with ear training to create a wide musical experience. When teaching classical piano, I use technique books like Hanon, Pischna for advanced beginners and intermediate. Material can range from Bach, Beethoven, Schumann etc. Contemporary methods usually from an approved song book or possibly a show tune. I am a trumpeter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer/arranger in the Philadelphia and New York regions. My primary instrument for the past 16+ years is trumpet; I also regularly perform on assorted brass, electric bass, and vocals.
