I began teaching privately after graduating from college over forty years ago. My first experiences were teaching guitar and voice in a local music store and I have taught in many other places including student's homes and my own studio. I taught private lessons in voice, piano, bass and guitar and I have worked with all age levels of students from elementary to adults. As a vocal coach my services were often requested by local theatre companies to work with their cast members in developing a role. Read More

Teaching is my passion! I have been a private piano and voice instructor for over 10 years, as well as a classroom teacher for over 12. I love finding the gifts in all students and nurturing those gifts by sharing my love of music and knowledge. I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. My career as a musician has given me many enriching opportunities to be involved in vocal performances and teacher-led performances over the last 12 years. Read More

Each lesson will start with breathing techniques and a vocal warm up. Read More

I also love allowing students to play music based on holidays they celebrate: it is always fun for a small family/friends concert! Read More

I like to form a give and take relationship with my students - each student is different and approaches cannot be the same by any means. As I build a relationship with a student, we will work together to navigate obstacles by exploring different methods, ultimately empowering them with a toolbag that they can access at any time, depending on the situation. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
