I have taught privately in my home state of Wisconsin for many years and for the past two years I have been teaching piano and voice at studios in Chicago and Wisconsin. I have been teaching continuously since 2002. I started by teaching undergraduate students at UT and continued in high schools and middle schools in the greater austin area. I encourage students to find the best fit for their interests and talents during lessons. Some students want to be able to sing better in church or school choirs, while others are interested in musical solos or college auditions. I am a passionate and very relatable teacher who absolutely loves sharing my love for music with my students as I endeavor to help them become skilled and engaged musicians themselves. There are many books on drums and piano or voice. I have to get to know the student to determine what I will use to get better results. It will depend on their age and attitude and initial talent. Also, a lot of kids are busy at school and don't have much time for practice. It means I need to get a lot done during the actual lesson and make sure that the info I m giving is settling in and there are no gray areas and questions of what to do until next lesson. Read More
